Working in the Satcom Team
The Satcom business unit is at the heart of Open Cosmos’ expansion into delivering secure, intelligent, and scalable satellite communication services. This business unit will be responsible for the full product and engineering activities, guiding the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge Satcom systems and services across commercial, enterprise, and government sectors.
What will you be doing?
As Vice President Satcom Solutions you will lead the Satcom business, owning its vision, strategy, execution, and growth to establish Open Cosmos as a top European provider of secure, scalable satellite connectivity. You will own the CAPEX/OPEX planning to deliver sustainable growth within this function.
This will involve aligning commercial goals across secure comms, IoT/M2M, private networks, and 5G/6G backhaul—shaping strategy, forging partnerships, and defining the company’s role in global connectivity. Simultaneously, you’ll scale cross-functional teams and ensure timely, cost-effective, high-quality delivery across systems, software, networks, and platforms.
You will drive innovation in inter-satellite links, RF/optical comms, 5G/6G NTN integration, and digital twin-based optimisation, ensuring secure, scalable, high-performance systems.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Ability to lead cross-functional engineering and operations teams in the aerospace, satellite communications, or telecommunications sectors, with a focus on product delivery and execution.
- Ability to deliver complex systems from design to deployment, including satellite constellations, ground infrastructure, network integration, and user-facing services.
- Practical understanding of systems engineering, software, networking, and payload integration, with the ability to manage multi-domain programs and teams.
- Ability to manage CAPEX/OPEX budgets, supplier relationships, and manufacturing or integration facilities, with a strong focus on efficiency and scalability.
- Demonstrated ability to implement agile execution frameworks and delivery models, ensuring high-velocity, value-driven development across distributed teams.
- Knowledge of Satcom-specific technologies, such as inter-satellite links, 5G/6G NTN, RF/optical communications, and private networks, with an ability to assess technical and operational trade-offs.
- Excellent leadership and organisational development skills, with experience building high-performing teams, mentoring engineering leaders, and scaling through growth phases.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of aligning engineering execution with commercial goals, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
- Ability to translate strategy into operational roadmaps, and oversee system integration, quality assurance, and service launch in collaboration with product and commercial teams.
