Working in the Satcoms Software Team

Our team designs, builds, and operates the software infrastructure behind Open Cosmos’ satellite communications services. From network planning and mission simulation to real-time telemetry processing and digital twin modelling, we provide the foundation for scalable, intelligent, and secure connectivity from space to ground. We use modern technologies, agile methods, and tight collaboration with hardware, mission, and commercial teams to deliver value quickly.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer to help build the tools, infrastructure, and processes that support integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) across our Satcom product lines. Your work will enable us to scale manufacturing, integration, and service readiness as Open Cosmos expands its global connectivity services.

In this role, you’ll develop and maintain automated test frameworks for system integration, functional validation, and performance testing. You’ll implement workflows for HIL, SIL, and NIL environments, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn system requirements into automated, traceable test cases. Your testing solutions will be integrated into CI/CD pipelines for early fault detection and fast iteration.

You’ll also support test campaigns, lab automation, and in-orbit validation, while helping to build scalable test environments that grow with our mission demands.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A strong background in test engineering, automation, or system integration (space or telecom sector preferred).
• Proficiency in developing test automation tools and frameworks using Python, C++, or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with communication systems, RF testing, digital interfaces, or network validation.
• Understanding of satellite systems, payload behaviour, and performance metrics is a plus.
• Hands-on knowledge of lab instrumentation (spectrum analysers, signal generators, VNAs) and automated control via software.
• Understanding of CI/CD environments and test integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Robot Framework).
• Great problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
