Senior Electronics Engineer (Embedded)
Aim high, go beyond!
At Open Cosmos we are solving the world’s biggest challenges from space, providing businesses, governments and researchers access to more readily available information than ever before - ready for the challenge? Then read on…
Working in our Chief Technology Office (CTO)
The CTO division is where Open Cosmos technology comes to life. Covering engineering, product development, and technical innovation, the team designs, builds, and operates the satellites, systems, and platforms that make our missions possible. It’s a highly collaborative environment where ideas become real hardware, software, and data solutions that deliver impact from space.
The Electronics team is where the magic happens - from power systems and flight computers to comms boards and payload interfaces, they make sure every mission succeeds. It’s creative, hands-on, and mission-critical work — solving tricky problems, testing every circuit, and making sure our satellites are ready to thrive in the toughest environment of all: Space.

What You’ll Bring
Deep understanding of embedded systems design, ideally within aerospace, defence, or other safety-critical environments.
Skilled in PCB design and schematic capture for mixed-signal, high-speed data, and embedded systems (Altium or similar).
Strong grasp of microcontrollers, processors, and digital communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, SpaceWire, etc.).
Confident in board bring-up, testing, and debugging using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and JTAG.
Solid understanding of firmware integration and software-hardware interaction, working closely with cross-functional teams.
A hands-on problem solver who thrives on turning complex challenges into elegant, reliable solutions.
Genuine passion for innovation and for building space-ready electronics that push boundaries.
