Senior AIT (Assembly, Integration & Test) Engineer
Aim high, go beyond!
At Open Cosmos we are solving the world’s biggest challenges from space, providing businesses, governments and researchers access to more readily available information than ever before - ready for the challenge? Then read on…
Working in our Chief Technology Office (CTO)
The CTO division is where Open Cosmos technology comes to life. Covering engineering, product development, and technical innovation, the team designs, builds, and operates the satellites, systems, and platforms that make our missions possible. It’s a highly collaborative environment where ideas become real hardware, software, and data solutions that deliver impact from space.
The AIT team is at the heart of turning ideas into real, orbit-ready satellites. They’re the workshop where Open Cosmos missions come to life — taking designs from paper to physical hardware. It’s hands-on, fast-paced, and mission-critical - it doesn’t get much cooler than this!
What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior AIT Engineer, you’ll lead the integration and testing of Open Cosmos satellites — ensuring spacecraft are assembled, validated, and prepared for launch.
You’ll oversee spacecraft AIT campaigns, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, and guide integration activities from subsystem assembly through environmental testing and launch readiness. This role combines hands-on spacecraft work with technical leadership, problem-solving, and campaign planning.
Working closely with systems, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams, you’ll help ensure satellites meet mission requirements and are delivered ready for orbit.
Your work will directly contribute to spacecraft that launch and operate around the world.
What You’ll Bring
Strong technical expertise in spacecraft Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT).
Deep understanding of spacecraft subsystems, system interfaces, and integration processes.
Capability to lead complex integration and verification activities.
Strong troubleshooting and anomaly investigation skills across spacecraft systems.
Ability to develop integration procedures, test plans, and verification strategies.
Confidence working with electrical test equipment, EGSE, and spacecraft ground support systems.
Strong understanding of configuration control, quality assurance, and engineering documentation.
A collaborative mindset and the ability to guide engineers and technicians during integration campaigns.
Comfort working in cleanroom environments and supporting environmental test campaigns.
